Creating flexibility in your New Year’s Resolutions as someone with ADHD

Okay. So you’re ready to make some New Years resolutions, but memories of years past come creeping up and maybe you’re even doubting your ability to commit to a goal. Maybe you need some flexibility around your goals? Here’s three things that might help:

  1. Focusing on habits over outcomes

Habits take a while to establish. If you are focused on how you’re not meeting the goal, you’re missing your own progress. Consider placing more importance on creating sustainable habits rather than setting an exact date on the calender.

  2. Celebrating your wins

The world will count your losses, but it’s up to you to count your wins. Stopping to check in on your progress and actually celebrating your wins is a vital part of changing behaviors.

  3. Need more support?

Still not feeling jazzed about the new year, consider scheduling a free 15 minute consultation with Laney to get more clear on your goals and make a plan!

Take good care ya’ll,

Laney
