Managing ADHD-Related Anxiety and Overwhelm

Hi all!

Today I am bringing you reminders for self compassion and coping today. I’m a big proponent of utilizing self compassion when encountering struggles with ADHD overwhelm. I believe that like with anything modifications can be made to make the struggles that one faces feel less daunting.

How can you meet yourself where you are and give yourself some comfort, while still getting your tasks done?

Here are some ideas for getting you started:

  • Practicing mindful self-compassion instead of self-criticism.

  • Creating a sensory-friendly calming routine (weighted blankets, noise-canceling headphones).

  • Learning to pause and reframe anxious thoughts.
