Tips for ADHD and the Holidays: Creating a Calming Space.

When I say “self care” our minds often move to vacations, long baths and diversions from our day-to-day life. However it’s so much more than that.

One way that you can have the best of both worlds is in creating a calming space for yourself. If you are reading this and asking yourself if you have a calming space in your home, keep reading.

If you know you need to make a calming space- I got you. Let’s do it!

Use your senses. When making calming spaces, my mind always goes to the senses. For many folks this is an area that gets forgotten.

What can you do to improve the comfort of your space?

Here are some examples: Lowering the light (turning the “big light”) off, turning on some lo-fi music that is soothing, having a cup of tea, all of these are great examples of shifting your environment to be less overwhelming.
