Tips for ADHD and the Holidays: Movement!

Hi all! This is Laney bringing you another tip for coping over the holidays. Todays tip is self care themed.

Please note: this is not medical advice. Check with your primary care provider before attempting.

Now when I say the words “movement” or “exercise” I want to be sure that we are thinking of the same thing. I am not talking about trying to change your body shape or size. I am talking about moving emotions through your body.

Why focus on movement?

Movement is more than physical health and the size on your jeans. Movement is about helping emotions that are stored in our body release, allowing us to feel less stress, pressures and improve our mental health.

How do I release emotions in the body?

Dance, move your body to music, yoga, running- any of these will do. It can be as simple as putting on a song when you are feeling blah. When you engage in movement our nervous systems shift gears and are able to focus on regulation.

If you are reading this and wanting to be more deliberate about your mental health, hit the contact me button and schedule a 15 minute consult to see if we are a good fit.

Take good care,

Laney
